Our friends at the BBC, who experimented with Qik throughout the US Elections, are curious to know what you think of their approach here. Check out this Qik from the BBC's Jamillah Knowles, asking you to submit your own Qiks to tell them what you think they're getting right, what you would change, and how you think they should be using your Qiks.

You can now download, install and start qikking right from your mobile phone by visiting http://d.qik.com or http://qik.com. Once there we'll try to detect the device you have and present you with the option to download Qik for that device. If for some reason we can't - you can choose the brand and the model of your phone to download Qik.

Once installed, the first time you start Qik, you can signup as a new user or stream to an existing account by entering your username / password.

The first proof point that hit it home for me was on November 6 at the Myspace Party after the Web 2.0 Summit. While we were rocking to a live performance by Lionel Richie - I met a person with a Nokia N95 and he was able to download Qik, create an account and start streaming in less than a minute.

Heading to the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco this week? Make sure to check out the Launchpad event at the Summit, where Qik will be one of six presenting start-ups before a panel of expert judges. It's a huge honor to have been selected from all of the companies that applied, and Bhaskar has authorized me to disclose that he's very excited to show off Qik. :)

Bhaskar, Rishi and I hit the Web 2.0 Summit today for the Launchpad dress rehearsal - the Palace Hotel was absolutely buzzing. One of the hot topics was Microsoft's announcement today of their Bizspark program for young companies. It's a pretty cool global program which gives start-ups free access to Microsoft software. Microsoft is one of Qik's partners, as we have Qik running on Windows Mobile devices, and I managed to get MSFT SVP Dan'l Lewin to tell me, live on Qik, what Bizspark is all about:
